Functional Capacity Assessment

What is an NDIS FCA?

An NDIS Functional Capacity Assessment looks at how a person manages daily tasks and activities. It is carried out by an experienced Occupational Therapist and helps inform your NDIS plan and funding decisions.

Frequently Asked Questions
An FCA looks at how well you manage daily tasks under the NDIS. Your Occupational Therapist identifies where you need support and makes sure your NDIS plan reflects your real needs and goals.
All assessments at UNO OT are carried out by an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist with more than ten years of clinical experience and a neurodiversity affirming approach.
The assessment itself usually takes one to two hours. It is carried out in your home or community. The written report is completed separately after the session.
You receive a written report with recommendations linked to NDIS support categories. This can be submitted directly for your plan or plan review.
Yes. FCAs are funded under Capacity Building: Improved Daily Living. We work with plan managed and self managed participants. Please get in touch to discuss your funding situation.
